Transfer Mailbox -Residence and Business -- V7.0
Product Description
A Transfer Mailbox is used when an end-user wants to transfer calls from a line that does not have Voice Messaging Service to a mailbox associated with another line.
Transfer Mailbox can only be provided to end-users with multi-line accounts and one of the following services:
Voice Messaging Service | USOC(s) |
Residence | |
Mailbox Only - Residence Only | VMJXX |
Voice Messaging Service - Residence Only | VMJXA, VMJXB |
Business | |
Business Voice Messaging Service Choice | VVMAD, VVMAE, VVMAF, VVMAG |
Voice Mail Mailbox - Business Only | MBB, MBBXA |
Transfer Mailbox does not forward calls it ensures that when calls reach the Voice Response Unit (VRU) they go into the proper mailbox. In addition, a Call Forwarding feature must be added to the end-user's line to forward calls.
Transfer Mailbox allows end-users the ability to forward multiple lines into a Message Delivery Service (MDS) provisioned mailbox/router, built on the same Customer Service Record (CSR) as the Transfer Mailbox.
Transfer mailboxes may be:
- Used on accounts with multi-lines, when the end-user wants more than one line to forward into a single, MDS provisioned mailbox/router.
- Built on a custom ringing number when the main telephone number and the custom ringing number both forward into the mailbox.
- Built on a Market Expansion Line® (MEL) Service, also referred to as Remote Call Forwarding, that forwards to a 1FB/1FR and then forwards to a mailbox/router. The mailbox/router needs to be MDS.
Transfer Mailboxes may not be used to associate:
- A business account to a residence mailbox
- A residence account to a business mailbox/router
- A line on one CSR to a mailbox/router on another CSR
- Associate multiple lines to a Direct Inward Dialing (DID®) mailbox/router
A forwarding feature is needed on the line with the Transfer Mailbox on it. This forwarding feature can:
- Forward directly to the VRU
- Forward the call to another line, which eventually forwards the call into the VRU
