How to transfer your phone number to another provider

You can transfer your CenturyLink phone number to another provider, such as a cell phone carrier.

Transfer from CenturyLink to another provider

If you want to move your CenturyLink landline number to another carrier, here's what to do:
 

  1. Contact the other provider and tell them you want to transfer your CenturyLink number.

  2. That company will contact us to initiate the transfer (or "port", in our jargon).

  3. The new company, or provider, should confirm with you when the transfer has been completed.

Note: If you have a freeze on your number, you will need to contact us to have it removed before the new carrier can transfer your number.
