Now we'll review three additional N-1 Call Scenarios. The diagram on your left illustrates a scenario for a Wireline Local Call.
Scenario 6
Local call outside ported area - LNP/LRN Capable LEC:
- Caller B makes a call within their Local Calling
Area (LCA), but from outside the Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA)
and ported area, to Caller C.
- LEC-4 is the N-1 carrier that performs the "database
dip" to determine the LRN and then routes the call to LEC-2.
If no direct connection exists between LEC-4 and LEC-2, calls may
be terminated through a tandem agreement with LEC-1.
