• Welcome to the Collocation Lesson
    • Information

    • This self-directed, eLearning is divided into two sections: Collocation and Entrance Facility.

Collocation is a negotiated service offering that provides several options to Competitive Local Exchange Carriers (CLECs) for the installation and maintenance of their transmission equipment.

In general, Collocation allows for placement of telecommunications equipment within CenturyLink's Central Office for the purpose of accessing Unbundled Network Elements (UNEs) and/or terminating Local/Extended Area Service (EAS) and ancillary traffic.

CLECs will work with a CenturyLink Sales Executive when assistance is needed in selecting the most appropriate services for different situations.

Entrance Facility is when a CLEC elects to place (collocate) its equipment within a CenturyLink Central Office, the CLEC also needs to decide how it will "enter the Central Office" and connect the collocated equipment.

The CLEC will work with a CenturyLink Sales Executive when assistance is required in selecting the most appropriate Collocation Entrance Facility Option for different situations.

CLECs must be familiar with the Collocation services that CenturyLink can provide.
