- Metro Ethernet Service (Switched Ethernet) is a flexible, full-duplex data transport service that consists of:
- A shared, fully meshed metropolitan network
- Physical ports connecting customer locations served over fiber or copper
- Logical Ethernet Virtual Connections (EVCs)
- Native Ethernet protocol to transport customer’s Ethernet Frames
- EVCs are offered in two configurations:
- Point-to-point
- Multi-point
- The Service transmission speed depends on the Ethernet Port size selected and the amount of Bandwidth ordered.
- Metro Ethernet addresses high bandwidth, point-to-point and multi-point data networking needs.
