Description Of Change
Majority of ASRs are received from customers via an existing mechanized transmission process and loaded into the Qwest ordering system. These ASRs are only validated to ensure that fields are populated/not populated, and that data meets existing OBF ASR Industry Standards. This approach allows alot of room for errors that requires manual effort on the part of the customer and Qwest to resolve. Pre-Order Validation via XML will allow customers to pre-validate CFA information, Address information, and requested service (NC/NCI/SECNCI) before ASRs are created and submitted.

Pre-Order Validation will provide the capability for Qwest to receive the data files from the customer and edit the information not only on OBF ASR Industry Standard guidelines, but also rules specific to Qwest. Also included in the Pre-Order Validation process will be the capability to validate address information and CFA information. If there are errors, information will be sent back to the customer immediately for resolution. The return file will identify the errors incurred and will also include specific information related to valid address and CFA matches.

These improvements will improve flow through, quality, FOC timelines, reduce manual handling and errors. She also reviewed the existing and future ASR submittal process flow. Beth King/Qwest discussed SCR062802-03 (ASR NDM Change Existing App to App)) and stated that July 1, 2003 is the target deployment date. She then reviewed SCR062802-02 (ASR Pre-order Via XML New App-to-App) She stated that Qwest was seeking a decreased timeline and has submitted an Exception Request (SCR030403-01EX) Lynn Stecklein/Qwest said that a notification will be sent that will provide the logistics for the Vote Meeting to be held on March 26, 2003. She also reviewed what a ‘Yes and ‘No’ vote will indicate. A vote of ‘Yes’ will indicate a preference to deploy SCR062802-02 (ASR pre-order via XML) on the target date of July 1, 2003 in conjunction with SCR062802-03 (ASR validation). This deployment would have a timeline of 100 days versus a timeline of 270 days for a new application to application as defined in the CMP process. A vote of ‘No’ will indicate a preference that Qwest not implement a change to the timeline. Donna Osborne-Miller asked whom she should contact if she had questions. Beth King/Qwest stated that any questions could be sent to her or the cmpcr@qwest.com email box. Liz Balvin/WorldCom asked about XML.
